Simon Accounting & Tax was founded in Weymouth MA in 2009 in a very small office that shared the waiting area with Simon’s wife dental office. Simon’s commitment was to provide affordable, tax preparation and planning services, as well as, accounting, bookkeeping & Payroll services to family owned and small successful businesses. A year later Simon hired his first employee and now the firm has grown to two offices in Braintree and Westwood with a staff of 5 full time employees and seven seasonal and part time employees. By offering attentive service and the guidance many business owners and individuals need, and appreciate, the firm currently works with at least 400 businesses and prepares over 800 individual tax returns each year.

Our Staff
Charbel Laham
Charbel joined our firm full time in 2019 after working as an intern for Simon since 2015 while attending college. Charbel’s role at the firm includes payroll processing and compliance, business accounting, and tax return preparation.
Charbel graduated from Merrimack College with a Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) Degree in 2019. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting in 2018 at Merrimack College.
In his time away from the office, Charbel’s interests include helping with his family’s real estate business and staying active playing basketball and soccer.
Charbel plans on studying and obtaining his CPA license in the next 1-3 years.
LEO Hart, EA
For 47 years, Leo J. Hart III EA has been providing quality, personalized financial guidance to local individuals and businesses. Leo’s expertise ranges from basic tax management and accounting services to more in-depth services such as financial statements and retirement planning.
In 2020 Leo sold his practice to Simon Akkary to ensure Leo’s clients continue to receive the highest quality tax services after Leo retires.
In his time away from the office, Leo’s interests include spending time with his family, waterskiing, scuba diving, and playing Racquetball with friends.
Cyndi Cuddy
Cyndi has been working for Leo the last 15 years and has over 30 years of business accounting and tax experience. Cyndi’s role at the firm includes payroll processing and compliance, business accounting, and tax return preparation.
In her first 20 years of accounting Cyndi worked in Oregon until she moved to Massachusetts in the late 90s where she would continue her accounting career.
In her time away from the office, Cyndi’s interests include being with family, sewing and quilting crafts.
Kristie McDevitt, CPA
Kristie joined our film in 2019 with 20 years experience in the accounting industry. Kristie’s roll at the firm includes business accounting and business tax return preparation.
Kristie graduated from Providence College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 1996. She became a Certified Public Accountant in 1998.
In her time away from the office, Kristie loves to spend her time with her husband and four children.
